Alfred Zembik passed away on June 22nd after a courageous four year battle with multiple myeloma. His devoted wife of 54 years, Carol was by his side. Alfred grew up in Ewa Beach and served 4 years in the US Marine Corp. He lived by the motto, "Once a Marine, Always a Marine". Upon discharge, he married Carol Freitas in Hawaii then moved to California. He was a Barber by trade and passion. He was the original owner of the Parkmont Village Barber Shop in Fremont. He also enjoyed teaching for several years at San Jose Barber College. He retired as an Inspector/Supervisor from the Department of Consumer Affairs in 1997. His retirement was full of travel, road trips and lots of fishing. He had a passion for creating things with his hands and loved working in his garage and around his yard. His garage was always a welcome place for neighbors and friends.
Alfred was a devoted family man, husband and wonderful father and grandfather. He will greatly be missed and remain forever in our hearts. At his request, there will be no service. His ashes will return home to Hawaii and scattered at sea.
