Alice Ann Solomon passed away peacefully in Fremont, CA at a private board and care facility on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 12:55am.

Alice Ann Jerome was born on January 10, 1927 in New Bedford, MA to Joseph Jerome and Mary Cardoza.

Alice married Joseph Cunha in 1946, they moved to Californian later that year where they would start their family. They resided in Oakland and San Leandro for their 20 years of marriage.

In 1971 Alice married Charles Solomon, they resided in Fremont, CA and then in Oklahoma. They would later retire back to Fremont, CA in the 90's.

Alice worked for Fridens & Singer for over twenty years, Caterpillar for 10 years, and retired from General Motors where she worked for five years. After her husband Charles passed away, she worked as a crossing guard for Fremont Unified School District up until six years ago.

She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars out of Ripon, CA.

Alice enjoyed going on road trips with her husband in their R.V., gambling in Reno, fishing, dancing, and spending time with her growing family. She was also an avid cat lover. Alice will be remembered as a loving and caring mom who loved adventure and wasn't afraid to try new things. Alice will never be forgotten by those who knew and were loved by her.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Charles Solomon and her sister Eva Dias. She is survived by her children: Sandra Illes (Robert), and Bruce Cunha (Karen); granddaughters: Stacie McAllister (Jason), Eileen De La Pena (Adrian), and Kellie Harkins (Scott); and great-grandchildren: Kaley, Emily, Lily, Tyler, Zachary, and McKenna. She is also survived by her niece Carolyn Dykeman, and nephew James Dias.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28, from 12-1pm and a Chapel Service will begin at 1pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial will follow at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, CA.
