Meacham, and devoted companion Moses Oliveira. She leaves behind her son Fred "Reb" Wayne and her daughter Marie Leanne.

Her career as a Registered Nurse at Highland Hospital E.R. and St. Rose Hospital in Hayward complimented who she was; a generous, kind, and caring soul. Jean?s sense of humor, bubbly personality, and compassion made people feel comfortable, important, and a welcome addition to her life. She loved to shop, crochet, sew, cook, socialize, and was always on the quest for a good bargain. She loved to give.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Alma Jean on Tuesday, December 4, from 4-8pm at the Fremont Elks Lodge #2121, 38991 Farwell Dr., Fremont, CA 94536.
In lieu of donations or flowers, we ask that you have happy thoughts, give to someone in need, pay it forward, root for the underdog, and be kind. This is what Mom would have wanted.

My dear friend Mrs. Meacham, I will miss your gracious hospitality more than anything.
You welcomed me into your family the first time I entered your home in Fremont.
I made your home my second home, and you never took issue with my decision....( well maybe a few times when I was 17 and at the height of my pompous teenage arrogance )
I knew the name adults called you was Jean....but never in my 45 years of knowing you would I have dared to call you anything other than Mrs. Meacham. I respected you too much to ever be so rude.
It was the same for Mr. Meacham.
It was who you were.
I recall fondly the stealth ninja quality you possessed when you silently crept into Brenda's room when she and I were in there as teenagers.
I'm not sure who I feared most....you or Mr. Meacham.
I can assure you Brenda and I were always on our best behavior for fear of invoking the wrath of the wooden spoon I'm sure you had at the ready.
I spent countless hours at your home and enjoyed every moment of it. This was in large part to your kind heart, and generous nature.
I trust you and Mr. Meacham are together with Brenda Gayle and all of you are basking in the warmth of the sun.

This was one wonderful lady and outstanding nurse. She loved to help and always made her patients and co-workers feel good about themselves. She was outstanding and a good friend, happy to have worked with her for 30 years. I was sad to hear of her passing.
