Obituary For Ana Gloria Silva
Ana Silva passed peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on June 6, 2022. She was a month shy of 99 years young.
Born in 1923, Faial Azores to her parents Manuel Francisco Rodrigues and Rosa Amelia Peixoto Rodrigues. She immigrated to America in July of 1968 with her husband and daughters Maria and Adelia. The 4 of them came with 2 suitcases, leaving everything behind to start a new life.
Ana had an appreciation for the sweeter things in life. She started her days with sugar with a side of coffee and a slice of Portuguese sweet bread, never eating a vegetable a day of her life. She learned a little English by watching Days of Our Lives and General Hospital and never missed a Monday night Smackdown watching WWE wrestling. In her earlier years, she enjoyed singing, cooking, baking and knitting.
Nothing meant more to Ana than family. She loved people deeply. Her home always felt safe and warm, leaving an open door for anyone to visit. In true grandma fashion, Ana always had a stash of candies she’d save to hand out to her grandchildren and kids.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Adelia & John Dentoni, son-in-law Jose Eduardo Silva, her beloved grandchildren Jennifer & Albert Sandoval, Michelle Silva, Stephanie & Lukas Grippa, Amanda da Rosa and her great grandchildren Albert & Dominic Sandoval and Ezra & Freya Grippa, in addition to her great granddoggie Max.
Ana always carried the memory of her loved ones that passed before her and would speak of them often. She was greeted on the other side by her loving husband Manuel Francisco Silva (2002), her dearest daughter Maria Lourdes Silva (2017) and her beloved grandson Carlos Manuel Silva (2021), in addition to the many family and friends that have journeyed to heaven before her, including her Mom who passed when Ana was 4 years old.
“Até amanhã se Deus quiser” / “Goodnight. Until tomorrow, God willing.”
