Anita “Ann” Gloria Laguna passed away leaving a legacy of love, faith and dedication.

Born in Sedgwick, Colorado, to Marciano and Jovita Aguayo, Ann grew up as one of seven children and graduated from Sedgwick High School before earning her Bachelor’s Degree from California State University Hayward, and a Master’s Degree. A passionate educator, she devoted many years to teaching first grade, in the Newark Unified School District and empowering local families by teaching English as a Second Language to parents.

Ann married the love of her life, Daniel Laguna in 1955, sharing 47 wonderful years together, raising their family, doting on their grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and exploring the world. A devout Catholic, Ann spent her retirement mastering every craft and sewing project she touched from quilting to card making.

Ann was preceded in death by; her beloved husband, Daniel, her parents, Marciano and Jovita, her daughter, Diana Gomez. She leaves behind a cherished family, including her daughter, Barbara Giambona; her son, Dan Laguna (Martha), her grandchildren, Jennifer Valdez-Rackley (Matthew), Amy Sebille-Bingham (Aaron), Scott Ammon, Danielle Laguna (Daniel Peaslee), Jena Laguna (Matt Pate), Bryan Gomez (Vanessa) along with 12 precious great-grandchildren, extended family, dear friends, former colleagues, and generations of students whose lives she touched.
