Obituary For Antonia "Toni" Allen Wilder
Antonia “Toni” Allen Wilder, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully October 1, 2026, in Redwood City, California, at the age of 83. Born June 9, 1943, in Gunnison, Utah, Toni lived a life filled with faith, family, music, service, laughter, and an extraordinary love for others.
Toni married the love of her life, Dale George Wilder, September 11, 1964, in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. Together they built a beautiful life centered on family and faith. Her greatest joy was being a wife and mother. There was nothing more important to Toni than her family, and she poured her whole heart into those she loved.
She is survived by her spouse; her siblings: Shirley Rae Beeton and David Allen; her seven children: Stephanie Allen (Lennie), Beth, David (Rachel), Julie Carson (Greg), Joseph (Tamara), Peggy Nelson (Travis), Rebekah Miller (Mike): 21 grandchildren: Brittany (Kevin), Ben, Brooke, Bryse (Hayden), Bridgette, Porter, Mason (Mackenzie), Kylie (Zac), Jenay (Garrett), Dallon, Brenna, Morgan, Gregory, Sydney, Makayla, Kai, Aspen, Brianna (Rian), Nate (Maggie), Rowley, Conrad; and eight great-grandchildren: Ava, Colette, Bode, Maylee, Crue, Jessa Lee, Kase, Cash, with another precious great-grandchild on the way.
Toni's testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ was one of the greatest gifts she shared with her family. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about—it was the foundation of how she lived. She had an unwavering testimony of the restored gospel and of the eternal nature of families. She trusted in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and held firmly to the promise that families can be together forever.
Toni faithfully served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She played the piano and organ, taught primary, served as a Relief Society counselor. She and Dale served together in the Oakland California Temple, in the Oakland Family History Center, and served a mission together at BYU–Hawaii, an experience that brought her great joy.
Music was one of Toni's greatest loves. She possessed a beautiful soprano voice and found great happiness in singing. Her voice was a gift she freely shared with others, whether singing in church or performing in Handel's Messiah each Christmas on Temple Hill at the Oakland Temple, a tradition she cherished for many years. She was in an Opera Workshop at BYU. For years she played the organ in the Oakland Temple. Music was woven into the fabric of her life and became part of the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Her Accordion polka music was always a joy to hear and dance to.
Toni loved the simple joys of life, including sitting in sun in backyard. She loved playing volleyball and enjoyed walking at Lake Elizabeth. But perhaps what people will remember most was her laughter. Toni had a joyful, happy disposition that made people feel welcome and loved. She rarely, if ever, spoke unkindly of others. She looked for the good in people and carried a remarkable ability to find joy even in life's difficult moments.
Toni felt everything deeply. She loved deeply, laughed deeply, served deeply, and believed deeply. Her heart was fully invested in the people and things that mattered most to her. She gave her family not only her time and talents, but her whole heart.
To her children, she was more than a mother—she was their example of faith, kindness, joy, and unconditional love. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was a source of laughter, encouragement, music, and love. To Dale, she was companion and eternal sweetheart. Her influence will continue through every generation of the family she loved so dearly.
Those who knew Toni will miss her beautiful voice, her laughter, her tender heart, her happy spirit, and the way she made others feel loved simply by being herself.
Her family finds peace in the knowledge that this separation is temporary. She has finished her course and kept the faith. She has returned to the loving presence of her Heavenly Father and is now awaiting the joyful day when her eternal family will be reunited. She loved the gospel teaching that because of Jesus Christ, death is not the end and families can be together again.
Her earthly life may be finished, but the love she gave, the testimony she shared, and the joy she brought into the lives of so many will continue for generations.
Until we meet again, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, wife, and friend—your voice may be quiet here, but your song will live on in all of us.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luris and Dena Winkel Allen and siblings: Le Grande Allen, Carol Gene Allen (Chapman, Carson), Dianne Allen (DeJel), Elaine Allen (Beeton), Wayne Luris Allen.
