Obituary For Armando Simoes Cardoso

Armando Simeos Cardoso was born on June 17, 1936 in Azores. He passed away on March 8, 2020 in Fremont, CA at the age of 83.

Armando was predeceased by both his parents Idalina Fatura and John Coelho and both his brother’s John Coelho, Rufino Cardoso, and his sister in law Berta Coelho. He is survived by his wife Salome Rocha Cardoso, daughter Zeze Rocha Cardoso, grandson Jacob Douglas Cardoso, and sister Marta Menezes.

Armando was born in Terceira Azores. He was part of the Portuguese Military. He worked for the American Base in Portugal. He then went to Rio De Janeiro Brazil and helped build the Capital of Brazil which at that time was Brasilia. He then went back to Portugal married his lifetime love Salome Rocha Cardoso. They moved back to Rio De Janeiro and had their only daughter Zeze Rocha Cardoso. They moved to the United States of America, San Francisco Bay Area, and then ended up residing in Fremont, California. They built their life here until his death. Armando was a Machinist for Peterbilt Trucking Company in Newark California for 25 years. He then worked as a Machinist for another local company. He retired at the age of 55. Armando loved people, animals, dancing, food, wine, beach, and Samba. He also loved to travel and explore new places. Armando was a devout Catholic and attended Mass every Sunday. He loved his family, especially his grandson Jacob, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in the Portuguese and local community. Armando was always very organized and a very sharp dresser. We will forever miss his warm smile.

    Our condolences to the the family of Armando Cardoso especially his wife, daughter and grandson. Armando was a very dear friend from my hometown Agualva Terceira. We visited each other for so many years. He will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May he rest in peace. Joseph and Idelta Leça
