Born September 7, 1929 in Riverside, CA and entered into rest on February 16, 2013 in Sutter Creek, CA at the age of 83. Beloved father of Art Martinez, Adrian Martinez, David Martinez, and Janice Petshe. Grandfather of 6, and great-grandfather of 4. Treasured brother of Richard Martinez, George Martinez, Emma Coria, and Minnie Gutierrez. Preceded in death by his wife Angel Martinez on November 11, 1998, and by his sister Amparo Alvarez.

Arthur grew up in the Niles District of Fremont. He started working at Wedgewood, and later began his career with PG&E for 35 years. He started as a Groundman, and worked his way up to Supervisor in the Electric Department in Fremont.

His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, and hiking. He moved to Amador County where he and his wife Angel, built their retirement home. He always loved to keep busy working around the house and yard.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 22, 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 703 C St., Union City, CA 94587. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
