Obituary For Aurea P. Lising

Aurea Macam Lising, long time resident of Union City, was born October 4, 1923 in Paniqui, Tarlac, Philippines, and peacefully passed on March 20, 2013 in Fremont, California. Aurea married Avelino Lising, Sr. in 1941 and had eight children: Elly, Estelita, Fernando, Cecilia, Conrado, Alex, Avelino, Jr., and Ronald. Aurea came to the United States in 1977, and since then, more than twenty beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren were welcomed into her family. Affectionately known as ?Gram?, she enjoyed tending to her vibrant roses in her garden, which were held in esteem for their size and color. When she wasn?t outside, Gram could be found with her nose in a book, listening to 96.5 KOIT, and glancing at a string of soap operas playing in the background. And one cannot forget the mainstay of her television set?TFC?easily her favorite channel by far. With that said, Gram?s true pride and joy was her family. Whether she was at an extravagant graduation or a simple dinner at home, Gram was happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved. Gram?s fierce guidance, love, and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children Lita, Conrado, Alex, Lino, and Ronald, as well as over fifty members of her extended family in the United States and Philippines.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 26, from 4-8pm with a Vigil at 6pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 27, 10am at St. Anne?s Catholic Church, 32223 Cabello St., Union City, CA 94587. Burial will follow at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward, CA.
