Obituary For Becky Lucille Gardner
Becky Lucille Gardner, 74, passed into the arms of Jesus on October 6, 2026, at her home in Fremont, California. Born on March 27, 1952, in Eldora, Iowa, Becky was one of four children of John and Lucille (Crump) Gardner. She grew up on farms in north-central Iowa and graduated from Alden High School. After attending cosmetology school in Des Moines, she operated her own home-based hair salon before pursuing a career in nursing as a licensed vocational nurse. She worked in several hospitals until chronic illness led to her retirement. Over the years, Becky lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Duluth, Minnesota; and Allison, Iowa, before moving to California to be closer to her sisters.
Becky will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and gratitude for the Lord’s blessings, even through life’s trials. She faced many health challenges with remarkable resilience and through it all, continually found joy and strength in the Lord. Becky had a giving heart and was always looking for ways to bless others, often without being asked. Whether sharing clothes, preparing an abundance of food for others to enjoy, or surprising someone with a thoughtful gift, generosity was one of the many ways she expressed her love.
Becky found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was a wonderful baker, although she always insisted her mother was better. With her love of sweets, there was almost always a treat in her home, and she rarely turned one down herself. You could often find Becky with her head quite literally among the flowers, taking in their beauty and fragrance. She especially loved roses and lilies, whether growing them, admiring them, or simply enjoying their scent. Becky also enjoyed embroidery, word puzzles, and traveling. She treasured special trips with her daughter, Danielle, and Hawaii held a special place in her heart. She spent many wonderful trips there with her sisters, enjoying the beaches, sunsets, and tropical flowers. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found comfort and joy in worship music and services from Bayside Church in Granite Bay, California.
Those who mourn her passing include her daughter, Danielle (Anthony) Perez of Fremont, California; her sister, Carolyn (Michael) Garner of Pleasanton, California; her brother, Richard (Cathi) Gardner of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her nieces Erin, Rachel, Heather, Jennifer, Kaitlyn, and Sara; her nephew Jonathan; and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucille Gardner, and her sister, Shirley Gardner.
The family will gather for a memorial service at a later date.
