Ben was a friend, a guy I knew I'd be friends with the day I met him. I lived across the street for a couple years and always enjoyed seeing him and sharing amazing conversations about our interests, for hours sometimes. We bonded right away through having shared interests in technology, especially in the recognition of the importance of certain digital age issues. I really valued our friendship while it lasted. He was always happy to share his knowledge and I remember he would often encourage my growing interest in less familiar tech topics, which was one of my favorite things about him, as well as his ability to laugh with me at the absurdity of the world. When you were friends with someone like Ben, it's hard not to feel a huge loss when they're gone. RIP Benjamin.
