Obituary For Bonnie Ora Wilson
Bonnie Ora Wilson was born on May 6, 1940 to Robert Earl and Gladys Helm Southward and joined her older sister Brenda Mills-White growing up in Le Grand, CA. She loved helping her dad work on the family cattle ranch, playing the piano, and dancing regularly with the family at square & round dances in the area. She was the organist for Le Grand Methodist Church for a number of years. Later she worked at Modesto Junior College and lived in Turlock.
Bonnie married James Michael Wilson on February 22, 1964 and they moved initially to Walnut Creek but then settled in Fremont, CA in 1969.
Bonnie was a very active volunteer with the organization Camp Fire Girls by leading meetings to organize new groups and find volunteer adult leaders, as well as being an area manager for the annual candy sales. Based on her valuable contributions to this organization, Bonnie received an award for her outstanding contributions in Alameda County.
With a lifelong passion for animals, Bonne was particularly enamored with both wolves and Siberian Huskies. If you ran into Bonnie, invariably she would be wearing a shirt, earrings, or even shoes, adorning these beautiful creatures she loved so much.
Bonnie’s husband of 58 years followed her in passing one week after her passing. She is survived by her daughter Beth (Johnny) Tyree of Coulterville, CA, son Keith (Kerri) Wilson of Pleasanton, CA, grandson Bryan (Sarah) Adams of Redding CA, grandson Johnny Tyree Jr. of Brentwood, CA, and granddaughter Melanie Rose Adams of Redding, CA.
During this difficult time, family and friends take solace in knowing Jim and Bonnie are reunited once again – forever.
In lieu of a public memorial and flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society
