Obituary For Bronita Roqurisinha Dias

With heavy hearts, our family is saddened to announce the passing of Bronita Roqurisinha Dias, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Bronita was born on October 19, 1935 in Goa, India to Jose and Rufina Fernandes. She spent most of her life in Bombay and Goa, moving to Union City, California in 2000. Bronita completed her journey on Earth on March 25, 2025. She was 89 years old at the time she passed.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Nunes, and her grandchildren: Ashita Dias, Desiree Nunes, Brooke Nunes, and Athelyn Dias. Bronita and (late) Luis were married in 1954 – they were married for 69 years. Her husband Luis Dias passed away on January 27, 2024. Bronita is also survived by her sister, Norma Fernandes, daughter-in-law Theresa Dias and her son-in-law Derek Nunes and sister-in-law, Agnes Fernandes.

Bronita was a homemaker and a devout Catholic all her life. She loved hearing Mass whenever possible and enjoyed cooking, her culinary delights would be talked about far and wide. She will always be remembered for her genuine concern for others and her extraordinary memory for peoples names and important dates.

Her generosity and spiritual nature impacted the lives of all those around her, and the pour of condolences from friends and family represent the love she gave and received throughout her long life. She joins her husband Luis, and her late son, Leslie Dias, in Heaven, and will be forever in our hearts.
