Obituary For Bryce J. McIntyre

Bryce McIntyre passed away at home on May 5, 2025. He was 95 years old.

He was a devoted father of one and a proud grandfather of one grandson. His life was marked by his hard work for his family.

Born on July 1, 1929, He was born to Lydia Kramer and John McIntyre in Scobey Montana. He worked around his homestead as a child until he left for the Air Force where he served until 1954. He met his wife Dorothy who was also in the Air Force and they were married and they moved to Montana where he worked for The Great Northern Railway. They had their daughter Chantel in 1954. He went to college on the GI Bill and graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts. They had a beautiful home in Havre, Montana where they were close to his family.

He got a job with the Social Security Administration in Portland, Oregon and he remained in that career during several moves and was the Assistant District Manager in the East Bay and Livermore when he retired. During that time they lived in Portland, OR, Santa Monica, Modesto, San Bruno and Newark, CA. We had homes wherever we moved.

He enjoyed working in his garden, working on his home repairs, rode his bike to the store, went out in his kayak in many lakes in the Sierras. He loved his pets, dogs and cats.

He moved closer to his daughter and he enjoyed meeting his neighbors who were very kind and helpful to him in his last years. He enjoyed his in-home care team and his caretaker.

He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy McIntyre, his mother and father and his sisters Catherine and Marion and his brother Rennie, and his second wife Jeannie. He is survived by his Daughter, Chantel Costello, his son-in-law Martin Costello and his Grandson, Jason and several nieces and nephews.
