Carolina Hernandez Aquino (Owa, Tita Carol), resident of Fremont, CA, passed away on the 25th of September, 2014 at the age of 77. Carol was born on the 30th of March, 1937 in Manila, Philippines. She grew up in Manila and was educated at Saint Theresa's College. In 1960, she received her Business degree from the University of Santo Tomas. Carol married Rico C. Aquino on the 15th of July, 1963. They had 4 children and in 1970 emigrated to Guam, USA. There she and Rico raised their kids until they moved to the Bay Area in 1981.

Carol loved her children, grandchildren and all her surrogate children. Nothing brought her more joy than to have all her kids and her kids' friends in her house eating, dancing, and laughing. When you went to Tita Carol's, you were sure to be fed and treated with many laughs. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Rico, and her children, Raul Aquino, Rita Aquino-Intintoli, Rene Aquino, and Rona Aquino. Carol also had 5 grandchildren, Christian, Brian, Alyssa, Matteo, and Luca. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, October 2, 10am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Inurnment at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, CA.
