Entered into rest on November 30, 2013 in Fremont, CA at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Joyce Carol Gillis of Fremont. Loving father to David Gillis of Lincoln, Lori Kane of San Leandro, and Andrew Gillis of Fremont. Caring step-father to Pat, Gary, Michelle, and Patrice. Grandfather of 7.

Born August 23, 1929 in MO, Ed fought in the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. He worked in car sales, working his way up to management, and eventually became a partner of Fremont Mazda. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with neighbors.

Private family services were held. He was laid to rest at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA.
