Obituary For David E. Arovola
David E. Arovola of Fremont entered into rest on February 18, 2018, at the age of 71. Born December 17, 1946 in California to Ralph F Arovola and Emma Fahardo Arovola. David graduated from Sunnyvale High School in 1964. He was a professor at Chabot College, and a member of Chabot Las Positas Association of Retired Employees (CARE).

Mr. Arovola, you were a great Speech & Debate teacher. May you rest in peace.

Many years ago (1995 to be exact) Mr. Arovola offered to let me jump out of the window as an alternative to delivering my first speech in his class. He knew that I had dropped 3 previous speech classes due to my abject fear of public speaking. Mr. Arovola's warmth, kindness, and understanding allowed me to complete this last course requirement and go on to graduate with highest honors. I tell this story often, as I truly believe that if it were not for Mr. Arovola's kindness, I would have dropped yet another speech class, and may not have completed my degree. The irony...I am now a instructor for Chabot College and I am in front of a classroom speaking everyday! Thank you Mr. Arovola! Your warm and gentle spirit lives on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to have known you. My sincerest condolences go out to all. Rhonda Westmoreland

I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. When I first started teaching at Chabot College, back in 2001, David was so kind to me, making me feel welcomed as a new teacher. We had similar class schedules for the first few years, and it was nice to see his friendly face in the mornings, always there with a smile or a joke. He will be missed. My condolences to his friends and family for what I am sure must be a great loss.
