Obituaries

To quote a text from our brother-in-law, John Parkin:

"He was a kind and gentle guy who loved his family. He also loved the Giants and the 49ers. He was a loyal fan and supporter. I will have a Mass said for him and I'll pray for him. I will miss him."

An only child, David attended St. Emydius Grade School, Riordan High School, the University of San Francisco and Golden Gate University, where he majored in Accounting and Taxation. He later got a Certified Public Accounting license.

In May he celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary by taking a cruise to Alaska from his home town, San Francisco. He enjoyed the nightly musical performances. He especially loved listening to jazz and took Mary Anne to the San Francisco Symphony often.

He had an amazing sense of humor, taste in music, a sonorous singing voice, and was often seen in the choir at the 5:00 p.m. Saturday Mass.

David was grateful to God for blessing his life with two beautiful children, being a member of the brotherhood of the Knights of Columbus, penny for the friendship of life-long friends and cousins. He had season tickets to the University of California, Berkeley football games, which also was a think he looked forward to each fall. In his 20's and 30's he enjoyed the game of golf.

He enjoyed singing Happy Birthday on the phone to his relatives and friends, near and far away.

David was a man of faith, a devoted husband and father, and a devoted family man. His beautiful smile will stay with us forever. - Mary Anne

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 703 C Street, Union City, CA.
