Obituary For Don Franklin Bihl

Born October 16, 1937 in Lubbock, TX, and entered into rest on August 27, 2014 in Newark, CA at the age of 76. Survived by his children: Debra Horvath and her husband Charles of Beaverton, OR, Terri Bihl of Newark, Tamra Rhine and her husband Mark of Newark, and John Bihl and his wife Diane of Newark; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Bob Bihl and his wife Kazuko of Fremont, Dan Bihl and his wife Anne of Valley Springs, Cliff Bihl and his wife Caroline of Hillsboro, OR, and Tanya Malcomson of Tigard, OR. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Kathy Bihl in 2000.

Don was an avid golfer, a gardener, a dog lover, and the best pecan pie maker. He was the 1977 Northern California Golf Association Tournament champion. He was a long time mechanic. Over the years he worked at GM, Mack Trucks, International Harvester, and Ford/Western Traction.

Inurnment on Saturday, August 30, 11am at Irvington Memorial Cemetery, 41001 Chapel Way, Fremont, CA 94538.

    Sisters (debbie, Terri, tammi) so sorry for the loss of your dad. Met him several times although brief. He was a great bunko host!!!! So kind to always allow a bunch of strange women in his home. Semper Fi Mr. Bihl. RIP!
