Obituaries

Entered into rest on November 25, 2012 in Fremont at the age of 70. Devoted wife of 37 years to Morris Southard of Newark. Loving mother to Travis Southard of NV, and Tyson Southard of Sacramento. Cherished sister of Deanna Perry of Livermore, Doreen Reith of Livermore, and Denise Costa of Fremont. Precious niece of Alice Perry of Fremont. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born December 28, 1941 in Niles, Donna was a secretary at Oliveira Elementary School for 16 years. She kept herself busy, always taking up a new hobby and in the process made many good friends along the way. Above all else she will be remembered for her devotion to family, she was truly the glue that held us all together.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Donna on Friday, November 30, 10am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Reception to follow at the DeSousa House. Inurnment at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA.

For the last 8 years Donna was very involved with many research projects with the Memory and Aging Center at UCSF.
