Obituaries

Donna Mones went to Heaven on April 7, 2014 surrounded by her family in Fremont at the age of 58. She fought cancer for 3 years and never complained.

Born and raised in Newark and lived in Modesto for the past 20 years. Donna graduated from Newark High School and worked in retail for many years. She loved crocheting and riding Harleys. She loved animals, always taking good care of strays. Donna had a great personality. She was the life of the party, always making people laugh. She would always help anyone who needed help. She was very loving and caring to all of her family and friends. Donna had a heart of gold.

Preceded in death by her parents Diego and Josephine Garcia. Survived by her husband John Giaopolous, son James Mones, grandson Mathew Mones, sister Linda Garcia, niece Rita Shook, and great-niece Johnnah Davis.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13, from 12-8pm with a Vigil at 4pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 14, 11am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Inurnment at San Carlos Cemetery in Monterey, CA.
