Born June 26, 1928 in Moline, IL, and entered into rest on March 5, 2013 in Fremont, CA at the age of 84. Beloved mother of Rick Vargas of Fremont, Gary Vargas of Fremont, Tom Vargas and his wife Elenore of Fremont, Lisa Rose and her husband Mike of Livermore, and Celeste Vargas of San Lorenzo. Grandmother of 7, and great-grandmother of 3. Cherished sister of Joan. Preceded in death by her husband Melvin J. Vargas on March 1, 1990.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, from 5-8pm with a Vigil at 7pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 13, 11am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
