She and Ted along with their youngest son Philip moved to Majorca, Spain in 1980 on a special job for United Airlines, whom Ted worked for nearly 40 years. They returned to Fremont after 2 1/2 years in Spain and then operated Sequoia Wholesale Thermography in Hayward together for 13 years after which they retired to Grass Valley in 2001.

Jean and Ted lived in Fremont for more than 50 years before moving to Grass Valley where they lived until Ted’s passing in January of 2016. She has lived at the Cogir Retirement Community on Country Drive until her passing.

Jean was an active member of the Irvington Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years and has served her church in many capacities as a Deacon, Sessions Member and a member of the Choir for many years. Jean was also instrumental in the starting of the Tri Cities Breakfast Program with other members of the Church and her Husband Ted. This program continues to serve the needy in Irvington and the city of Fremont.

Jean was one of the most loving and giving people anyone could ever meet. She always had a smile even when things were not going so well for her personally. She had many many friends and loved them all. She will be forever in our hearts and memories.
