Entered into rest on November 4, 2012 in Union City, CA at the age of 92. Beloved father of Michelle Azimi, Mark and Roni Fiala, and David Fiala and Pam Deaton. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Mark, Marie, Anna, and Emilie. Dear brother of Vincent Fiala, Virginia Goering, Geneva Cleary, Quentin Fiala, and James Fiala. Predeceased by his wife Joan Fiala on September 17, 2005.

Born July 15, 1920 in Mora, MN, Edward was a member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 3rd Order St. Francis, and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He retired from Oakland Fence Co. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in WWII and the Korean War.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 13, from 5-8pm with a Vigil at 7pm at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 703 C St., Union City, CA 94587. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 14, 10am at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
