Obituary For Elouise Wedman

Beloved mother of Sheri Delvin and her husband Rick of Sonora, Joyce Popst and her husband Steve of New Braunsfel, TX, and Jeff Wedman and his wife Carol of Medford, OR. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer Esparza, Jesse Delvin, William Popst, Carly Popst, Cody Wedman, and Dylan Wedman. Great-grandmother of 2. Caring sister to Mattie Pigeon of Newark, and De Garcia of Livermore. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Albert Wedman, her son Kenneth Wedman, and her brother Horace Kilgore.

Elouise was born and raised in Redwater, Texas. She met and then married Albert Wedman in 1942. They moved to Oakland, California where they began their family. She and Albert raised their four children in the Fremont/Newark area. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loving friend and neighbor.

After her children were in school Elouise worked for 20 years in the school food service at the old Newark High School. After retirement she and Albert retired to Sonora Ca, where they enjoyed 12 years of mountain living before ill health caused them to move back to the Fremont area.

When she was in good health Elouise was active in her church communities: Good Shepherd Lutheran in Fremont, Holy Redeemer Lutheran in Newark and Mt. Calvary Lutheran in Sugar Pine. Elouise had a special interest in the welfare of children and gave to several international organizations that provide services for children.

A memorial service will be held to honor the life of Elouise Wedman on Saturday, January 26, 2pm at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church.
