Obituaries

A loving wife, mother and sister peacefully passed away in her Fremont home on September 8, 2021 with her family at her side. She was 82 years old; born April 8, 1939, in San Francisco to Melvin and Margaret Allen. She had four younger siblings James, Melvina, Terry and Mike.

In 1955 she met her future husband, Edward Byers. They were wed in 1956 in Nevada. Elvira always loved children. She ran a daycare center out of her home and had five kids of her own. She loved God and was an active member of her church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and knitting hats for a charity. In her free time, she enjoyed playing games and all kinds of crafting. She could frequently be found trying out new crafts and then using her skills to make presents for her loved ones. When she wasn’t crafting or working Elvira loved taking her family camping and especially enjoyed fishing with them.

She will be greatly missed by her surviving five children Robert, Shirlee, Bill, Margaret, and Carol. Her son-in-law Marcelino and two daughters-in-law Diep and Lynn. She also had 11 grandchildren Matthew, Danielle, Jason, Erica, Sara, Isaac, Bruce, Tylor, Cory, Joshua, Maria and 4 great-granddaughters Emily, Abby, Bellѐ, and Alexandria. They’ll never forget this amazing woman whom had a heart full of love.
