Obituary For Esther Cortez
Esther Cortez was born on April 22, 1928 in Decoto, CA. She entered into rest on October 21, 2018 in Fremont, at the age of 90.
Esther worked at Hunt’s in food processing for 30 years. After Hunts closed, she went to work for Macy’s as merchandise distribution for 10 years. Esther was an expert seamstress. She also enjoyed embroidery and crocheting.
Proceeded by husband Enrique S. Cortez. She survived by her son: Henry Cortez, grandson: Matthew Cortez, brother: Henry Serbantes, niece: Emily Rojo (Tony), nephew: Ralph Serbantes (Dava), and three great nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, 5 to 8 PM at Our Lady of the Rosary, 703 C St, Union City. Vigil Service will be 6:30PM. Mass Funeral will be on Thursday, November 8, 2018, 10AM at Our Lady of the Rosary. Followed by burial at Holy Seplechre Cemetery, Hayward.

Mom's(Beatrice Lopez) cannery partner. My youthful years remembering mom being picked up by you to head out for the seasonal Hunts Cannery work. You were not only coworkers, but neighbors and good friends. Just the other day she spoke of her visit with you and you recognized her, made her feel happy that you knew who she was. Myself, you always remembered us her children and so lovingly greeted us as if family, Cheerful ,boisterous laugh. May you have peace and tranquility in your new life. Lenora Lopez-Zatarain
