Obituary For Eugene Joseph Pashote

A native of Newark for 79 years and Fremont for 12 years.

He attended Newark Grammar School, Washington Union High School (class of 1939), and San Jose State Junior College.

He had a part-time job with the Township Register in Niles and Washington News in Centerville reporting local Newark news for several years and was known as "scoop" Pashote.

He served in the U.S. Army in Field Artillery of the 89th Infantry Division.

He worked for 27 years in the accounting department of Westvaco Chlorine Products (FMC) in Newark. He spent his last 10 years of employment at the naval air station. He was employed at Enlisted Club and Officers Club on civilian status at Moffett field.

He was a volunteer fireman at the Newark Fire Department for 16 years. During the tenure while his dad was the Newark Fire Chief for 32 years.

He enjoyed gardening and traveling with his family in their RV.

He is survived by his son Stanley and Deanna Pashote; grandchildren: Jennifer and Ryan Tornio, and Kevin Pashote; and great-grandchild Emily Tornio. Predeceased by his wife Marguerite Pashote in 2000, and his parents Joseph and Caroline Pashote.

The family would like to thank Aegis of Fremont Assisted Living for their 12 years of caring service.

He will be laid to rest at a private family burial at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Eugene to Vitas Hospice at (408) 964-6800.
