It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Francisco G. Martinez of Fremont, CA, who passed away on September 2, 2021 at the age of 95. Francisco is survived by his children, Rebecca (William) Heering, Angelina (Michael) Diamond, Francis Edward Martinez (Cindi Escota), Mary Martha (David) Ojeda, Cecilia (Dale) Gerber, Tomas (Maria) Martinez, Rose Marie Martinez (Hector Gonzalez), 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and Paloma. Francisco was preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe R. Martinez, his parents Maria de Jesus Martinez and Encarnacion Martinez, sister Maria Dolores Bustamante and brothers Jose, Jesus, Guadalupe and Fidel Martinez.

Francisco G. Martinez was born in St. Louis, MO to Maria de Jesus Gonzalez and Encarnacion Martinez on September 13, 1925. He married Guadalupe Rodriguez on May 7, 1945 in La Canada de Caracheo, Gto., Mexico. He worked for Pacific State Steel in Niles for a number of years as a shearman helper. Francisco also worked as a butcher for over 30 years in multiple slaughter houses throughout the Bay Area. Before retiring, Francisco worked a few years as a maintenance/gardener at Saint Leonard church in Fremont.

The family of Francisco Martinez would like to give our sincere thanks to Angels Hospice, Lourdes Revelo R.N., for the care and support you gave our father for the past 2 years and to Joshua Gerber for the time you gave to our father when we needed a break.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 4pm-8pm with a Vigil Service at 6:30pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, 11am with viewing beginning at 10am, also at Fremont Chapel of the Roses. Burial to follow at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
