Obituary For Frank Arthur Goff

Frank Arthur Goff, 73, of San Leandro, CA formally of Springfield, OH

Our beloved father and grandfather passed away peacefully on November 28, 2013. He was born to the late Frank and Nora Jean Goff on July 3, 1940 in Chicago, IL. Dad graduated from Westerville High School in Westerville, Ohio. A couple years after graduation Dad enlisted in the Army on March 03, 1961 and was Honorably Discharged from Ft Brag, NC on March 11, 1963. Dad was briefly stationed in Korea and was in The Vietnam War.

Frank met our Mom, Sharon Sherwood, through mutual friends and they were soon married on May 3, 1969. They had two children, Blair Whitney Goff and Cynthia Ann Goff and one Grandchild, Jordan Nicole Goff. Their marriage lasted many years and they remained good friends until the death of Mom on September 12, 2012.

Dad was a caring and generous person. He never judged others, but instead took life in stride. Dad was always of good cheer, enjoyed laughter and gathering with loved ones. Dad always had a smile and a nice greeting for every one he met. He was funny and quick witted.

Dad was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed attending the football games and tailgating. He liked to joke that Coach Bruce was the best Ohio State Coach ever. Dad enjoyed golfing and was on his High School Golf Team. He also enjoyed darts and played for many years.

Half of my Dad’s ashes will be scattered at his favorite place near Shaver Lake in Fresno County and the other half will be buried at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.
