Obituary For Frank Raymond Cabrera

Frank R. Cabrera, resident of Union City passed away at home peacefully at the age of 83 after a long battle with dementia and cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Ida; children, Paul Cabrera, Eleanor (Steve) Hall, Sharon Cabrera and Lisa (Glenn) Lima. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chris, Angela, Melissa, David, Jillian, Miranda, Brianna and Trent; great grandchildren, Elahna and Mario; and his brother Fred. Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Henry and Mary; and his grandson Mario.

He was born Francis Ramon Cabrera to Merced & Esperanza Cabrera in Knightsen, CA. His family moved to Pittsburg, CA in 1942 where he went to school. He joined the Army in 1951, fought in Korea, and was honorably discharged in 1954. Frank was a proud veteran. He then moved to San Francisco where he met his loving wife Ida on a blind date. They celebrated 60 years of marriage on 10/8/2015. He went to school and became a Machinist, his profession until retirement in 1993.

Frank always liked working with his hands. He could fix and build anything he put his mind to and always had a project of some kind going. He loved fishing, camping, and traveling with family and friends. We all enjoyed his imagination; no one could tell a good story like Frank. He was a good friend, always willing to help out and fun to be around.
