Obituary For George Alfred Furtado
George entered into eternal rest on November 8th, 2016 at the age of 86. Born in Oakland, California to Manuel and Aurora Furtado. He was preceded in death by wife, Arlene of 63 years, and his parents. He is survived by children Joyce (husband Frank), Robert (wife Gennette), 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He attended Castlemont High School in Oakland. He was a proud Marine for 2 years. He worked for the same company for 40 years, Royal Typewriter/Konica. He enjoyed dancing, camping, hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15th, from 5-8pm with a Vigil at 6pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 16th, 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 41933 Blacow Rd., Fremont, CA 94538. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.

Uncle George will be missed by so many people. I have so many memories of him and Aunt Arlene, holidays, camping with them. I was so fortunate to be in town and was able to spend couple hours with him laughing and him telling stories. My heart goes out to cousins Joyce & Robert.

I am truly saddened to hear of the Passing of my First Cousin George. I have so many great memories of when we were younger. May his Soul Rest in Peace and may God bring Peace to his entire Family. Almiro Furtado.
