Entered into rest on April 2, 2014 in Fremont, CA at the age of 92. Preceded in death by her husband Theron L. Kabrich, Jr. and siblings Marie, Manuel, and Josephine. Survived by her children: Theron L. Kabrich III (with wife, Segun), Karen Wolff, and Robin Kabrich; grandchildren: Brianne Maddux (with husband, Brian) and Christian Kabrich (with fiancée, Anna Quant); step-grandson: David Feune (with wife, Erika); great-grandchildren: Michael Anthony Kabrich, Sebastian Feune, and Andre Feune; sister: Dee Silva; and many nieces and nephews.

Born February 22, 1922 in Centerville as Georgina Baptista, she played softball in her younger years, attended dances with sisters and friends. She loved Oakland A’s and San Francisco Giants baseball which she regularly watched enthusiastically on TV. She was soft spoken with a great sense of humor and a positive spirit to her final days. She was mentally crystal clear with amazing recall of details, facts, names and events from decades past as well as those in very recent memory. One of her common sayings was "Life can be beautiful sometimes." Her life and thoughts always centered around her children and grandchildren.

She was blessed to live to 92 in her own home with her youngest daughter Robin who was her constant companion and who cared for her for the past 25 years. Her caregiver, Masha Moore, also assisted in contributing to the quality of life in her last 3 years. Ms. Moore has become a close friend of the family.

I always remember Aunt Georgia in her kitchen. I have great childhood memories of all of the grown ups gathered around a large kitchen table solving all of the worlds problems.

I learned to cook in Nanny's kitchen. I was lucky enough to have a mom and grandparents that let me "play" in the kitchen. When I was little, I'd put on an apron, get a note pad, and go around asking everyone their orders. When I was a "waitress", Pop would call me "Dorothy"... not sure why, but it was okay with me. If it weren't for my grandma allowing to take over her kitchen every now and then, I might not have the passion for cooking I have now. I remember Nanny's gravy being so good at the holidays-- she was the first person who taught me the fine art of making gravy that didn't have lumps in it. Her method is the same I use today. She will always be with me in my kitchen.

A funny memory: Since Nanny was Portuguese, my cousin, Chris, and I would always have a good time taking the Portuguese words she would say and putting our own spin on them... I think she got a kick out of it, too... Completely different memory... Chris used to spend a lot of time with us in the summer and we had such a good time. I remember one time he was in need of a belt for his pants, and since he didn't bring one, Nanny fashioned one out of rope... ;O)
