Obituary For Gerald Stanley Ortega
Born on September 24th, 1946 in Springfield, IL, and entered into rest on March 17th, 2016 in Fremont, CA at the age of 69. Survived by his wife, Maria S. Ortega; son, Gerald "Jerry" Ortega, Jr. and his wife Theresa; his pride and joy, his grandson, Stellan William Ortega; brothers: Anthony Ortega, and Russell Ortega; and nieces and nephews.
Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Knights of Columbus Council #06288 of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. He loved golfing and fishing, and was a die-hard Oakland Raiders fan.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd, from 6-8pm with a Vigil at 6:30pm at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 703 C St., Union City, CA 94587. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 23rd, 11:30am at the church.

Dear Aunt Maria and cousin Jerry Jr. I can't think of the right words. I'll always have fond memories of Uncle Jerry. Our family gatherings, mananitas parties, camping trips. Happy memories, all of them. My heart goes out to you and I'm thinking of you in this time. Much love, Julie

Oh My Brother Jerry is gone..I am so sorry for your loss and for your family's sadness..I have fond memories of great times we shared with our family ..especially at Olema and family BBQ's...I am stuck here in Utah and cannot be at your funeral which makes me even sadder...sending you love...Hoping you are at peace...So much love for Maria and Jerry Jr...you were a fine man with a big Heart...Farewell my brother...you will be sorely missed by me...your Family...and all who knew you...Your brother...Russ
