Obituary For Gertrude C. "Trudy" McDonald

Gertrude C. “Trudy” McDonald, of Fremont, passed away on September 4, 2023 at the age of 100. She is survived by niece Cyndy Mozzetti, nephew Arnie (Javona) Mozzetti, both of Fremont, and her nephew Ben (Rebecca) Mozzetti Jr. of Santa Clara. Also survived by her great nieces and nephew, Logan, Shay and Alanna. Predeceased by parents Ben and Louise Mozzetti of Irvington, husband John C. McDonald of Fremont, and brothers Ben Mozzetti of Bethel Island and Arnold (Cathy) Mozzetti of Fremont.

Trudy was born on July 21, 1923 in Irvington, California. She attended Irvington Elementary, Washington High, and San Jose State. She taught Physical Education and Home Economics at Washington and was school administrator at Irvington and Williamson High Schools. Trudy was very active in Republican politics. California Chairman for Ronald Reagan and member of the Republican National Committee.

Trudy was a member of the RNC when we met. She was a member of the 1984 Republican National Committee Arrangements Committee for Ronald Reagan's Nominations Convention. She was bright, fun, smart and hard-working. My sincere sympathies to her family. She was "one in a million". - Peggy Venable

I am so sorry to read this. Trudy was one of my high school gym teachers at WUHS in the l950's. I am happy to hear that she lived such a long and , hopefully, an enriched life.
