Entered into rest on October 24, 2012 in Fremont at the age of 73. Beloved brother of Tom Lopez, Mary Baker, Lupe Schroeder, Louise Rivera, Doris Ziegler, and Manuel Lopez. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born May 26, 1939 in Oakland, Gilbert loved to dance, casinos, bowling, the 49ers, and the Giants. He enjoyed theater productions and opera. Gilbert acted in several productions at the Green Room in San Francisco. He was a salesman at Sears for 40 years. He was in the U.S. Army from 1964-1968. He will surely be missed by his family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 1, from 4-8pm with a Vigil at 7pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 2, 10am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 37891 2nd Street, Fremont, CA 94536. A private family burial will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
