Obituary For GlennaRose Fleming Jorgensen

GlennaRose Fleming Jorgensen was an angel among us.

GlennaRose was known by many names: Rosie, Puffy Poodle, MOAM (mother of all mothers), Grandma Rosie, RoseBud, Great Grandma Rosie. She was a bright and shining example of love, acceptance, kindness, and commitment. She was so amazingly talented, particularly with music and with words. She had a special way of making everyone feel that they were certainly her favorite.

Rosie was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on June 16, 1943, to Charles Roy Fleming and Bernice Berry. She was Papa Roy’s third daughter, and she was Grandma Bernice’s first child.

Rosie’s older sisters, Dorothy and Eileen….

Rosie’s best friend and loving little sister, Dorrie…

Rosie’s brother, Jimmy…

GlennaRose loved to learn. She read thousands of books from self-help and psychology to biographies, to children’s books (which she read over and over to her kids and grandkids). She was a published contributing author of the self-help book, “SuperMom”. One of Rosie’s favorite autobiographies was The Hiding Place. Rosie’s favorite books of all time are the Book of Mormon and the Bible. Mama loved Jesus and loved learning about Him by reading His scriptures and following His example. She had a personal witness that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are true. She memorized many entire chapters from those sacred books. GlennaRose lived her life in a way that anyone she met could tell that she loved the Savior. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was written upon her heart.

Rosie graduated from high school in Grand Junction where she played cello in the orchestra and drove the coolest car in town, a beautiful purple low rider.

Rosie stayed in Grand Junction and started her secondary studies at Mesa College where she also played cello in the orchestra.

After two years at Mesa, Rosie continued her studies at Brigham Young University where she earned a dual-major degree in early childhood education and home economics.

BYU is also where she met Orrin Valdemar Jorgensen, a strong and faithful young man who refused to take no for an answer. His tenacity won her over. Rosie married Orrin for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS temple on September 7, 1965. They were honored to have Fred W Swindeman, Orrin’s former mission president, perform the marriage ordinance.

Rosie loved God and she loved her family. GlennaRose and Orrin had 9 children, Melanie Rose Jorgensen Westover (Eric), Kelly Jack Jorgensen (Heather), Roy Fleming Jorgensen (Anna), Scott Orrin Jorgensen (Suzie), Kristen Elaine Jorgensen Hawkes (Dave), Stacy Vicki Jorgensen Noble, Jami Jorgensen, Nicole Bernice Jorgensen Hollimon (Dameon), Brittney Elise Jorgensen Damaceno (Liandro).

Papa and Grandma Rosie’s posterity continues to grow. They are blessed with 28 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, with more on the horizon.

Rosie filled the world with love, accepting many people into the Jorgensen family.

GlennaRose could sit at the piano and play anything and add her own flair and character, bringing the instrument to life. One of the best things ever was standing around the piano in the living room and singing while mama played. Her creative and brilliant mind was adept at writing music and verse. She filled our home with song and with love. Her grandchildren know Grandma Rosie’s songs and sing them to their own children.

Rosie was blessed to be a full-time mom, and while doing so she gave piano lessons, she was a small business owner providing daycare to many kids, and she taught English at prestigious universities including Stanford and at The University of California, Berkeley.

As a volunteer, Rosie taught music at local elementary schools in Newark, California where she and Orrin raised their children. She also directed multiple talent shows at the schools, giving thousands of kids opportunities to grow and share their talents. Eventually, Rosie was hired by the school district to teach cooking and home economics at Newark Memorial High School where she was beloved by her students.

She was a fantastic teacher and loved teaching, especially within the walls of her own home.

Rosie retired from her teaching career and spent a lot of time traveling to visit her kids and grandkids.

She brightened any room she walked into. She loved her Mad Dog (aka Papa, aka Orrin) and was fiercely loyal to him.

Rosie completed her great earthly mission by raising 9 children with a firm foundation of love of God and of mankind.

Rosie graduated from mortality and was welcomed into heaven on January 16, 2026.

The world would be a better place if everyone was a little bit more like our GlennaRose.

We love and miss you, mama.

Till we meet again.

Sister Jorgensen was the best! She always had a smile on her face. I know my father is giving her a huge hug right now. She was one of his favorite people. She was very patient with her kids. Every single son and daughter is a great human being. I have very few church and scout camp memories without a Jorgensen or 2 or 3 or 4 in them. What an inspirational leader of a big, tight-knit family she was! She leaves a legacy of kind, intelligent, fun-loving kids and Grandkids to help make the world a better place. The Fields send their love.

I just can't imagine my world without Rosie a phone call away, a drop by from either of us without needing to call first-we just announced ourselves at the door and walked right in. No matter the condition of the house, what we were wearing, we always felt so welcomed and comfortable with one another. She was always "game" for a crazy fun outing with me-attended every party at my home-I loved her more than words can express. Her smile, laugh, wacky phone messages on the recorder, her unconditional BFF love live on. A whole is in my ❤️

My sympathies to your family at this time of loss. But what a great feeling you must all have knowing your Mom, Wife, Rosie, Sister Jorgensen (to me) has lived such a full and impressive life. I don't think I can get over the image of her driving "a beautiful purple low rider". I will always remember Sister Jorgensen with a smile.

I just read the obituary for Glenna Rose and I gotta say WOW! I knew she loved her "Mad Dog" and I knew she loved her children and I knew she loved the Lord!! I also knew her talent for music and the spoken word. But she has SUCH impressive academic credentials!!! One thing that I admired about her and Orrin was their openness with their children. I always got a sense that their "kids" felt free to talk to their parents about anything and everything! I think that helped create some confident human beings! She had a gift for making everyone feel like they were special!! I will miss knowing that she is in the world!!! But I also believe she's in a better place!! Sending much love to the entire Jorgensen Clan!
