Obituary For Gloria Jean Silva
Born on November 8th, 1945 in Riverside, CA, and entered into rest on March 1st, 2016 in Fremont, CA at the age of 70. Survived by her sons: Pete Avila (Jennifer), and Lorenzo Avila; daughter, Lydia Sanchez (Jesus); 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers: Ruben Soria, and Albert Soria; sisters: Sylvia Marhx, Yolanda Munoz, and Virginia Soria; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by her caretaker and granddaughter, Angel Avila. Preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Silva.
Gloria loved to cook. That was actually her number one past time. When she wasn’t cooking she was watching cooking shows. She also loved gardening, her and her husband would spend a lot of time together looking for beautiful things to plant. She loved to make her own jewelry. When she was younger a lot of the jewelry she wore was made by her. She was a collector of many thing always thinking that it could be used by somebody in the family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 9th, from 4-8pm with a Vigil at 6:30pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 10th, 12:30pm at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Ave., Newark, CA 94560.
