Obituary For Grace Noda

Grace Yaeko Noda, our dear mother and grandmother, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 1, 2022. Grace is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Noda and sister, Louise Oshita. She is survived by her children Patricia Noda, Naomi Barron and her beloved grandson, Kenny Barron whom she was very proud; her nieces Janice Takagi (Gary, Erica and Curtis), Sharon Oshita (Mark) and nephew Larry Oshita. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins on her husband's side.

She was born in Spokane, Washington on January 27, 1927 and was raised in Montana. Grace eventually found her way to San Francisco, California, and married the love of her life, Lawrence Noda in 1959. They moved to Newark in 1963, where they built their happily ever after, raising two children, Patricia and Naomi. Grace worked at Mervyn's and held various Federal positions over the years until she retired in 1996. Back in the day, Grace and Larry enjoyed various bowling leagues where many lasting friendships were formed. Lake Tahoe was one of her favorite places to relax and spend time with her family over the years. Grace always had a sharp mind and enjoyed working on puzzles, playing cards, and going to the casino. Family and friends always looked forward to her cooking, especially, her delicious desserts, which she was generous to share. She had a kind, thoughtful heart and expressed her love to those around her.

A private service will be held for family and close friends.

Aunty Grace and Uncle Larry was our neighbors since 1963. Aunty Grace had a heart of gold, a woman of class, she never raised her voice, always had a smile. We always looked forward to her desserts, they were the best. Tricia, Naomi and Kenny the memories that you have will get you through the grieving. She is with Uncle Larry now and will always be with you in your heart. Love you Aunty Grace. Love, Stephanie, Christian, Niki, Sandy, and Stewart.

Aunty Grace was the most kind soft spoken person ever. She made the best carrot cake and layered jello. We lived next door to the Noda family who became our Ohana. Lots of good memories for sure. My favorite was Aunty Grace always saying "Oh Dear" and laughing. We love you Aunty and now you can rest with Uncle Larry. Love Always Brian Laura Nick & Amanda.
