Obituary For Gwendolyn Evelyn Williams

Entered into rest on January 30, 2014 in Davis, CA at the age of 90. Beloved mother of LaDonna Williams (Ron Cortez), Dana Volponi (Robert), and Lewis Williams. Loving grandmother to Jonna Filiau, Michael Sellers, Clayton Volponi, and Garrett Volponi. Caring great-grandmother to Grace Filiau, Audrey Filiau, Victoria Filiau, Isaac Sellers, and Joaquin Sellers. Cherished sister of Maryann Knox, Betty Smith, and Joyce Hattabaugh. Also survived by many nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Clayton J. Williams, great-grandson Owen Filiau, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Born November 18, 1923 in Arkansas, Evelyn was a longtime resident of Fremont. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading the Bible, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, from 11am-1pm and a Chapel Service will begin at 1pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial will follow at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, CA.

My fondest memory is the Hawaii trip that Dana and I went on with Evelyn. We were all single ladies then, and did we ever have fun! Evelyn was always Dana's mom. But on that trip to Hawaii, I think we all became friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Dana. Your loss is great, and I know how you feel.
