Born October 31, 1929 to Paul and Minnie Stewart in Oakland, CA. Graduated from Washington HS in 1948. Married Jimmie Dias on December 31, 1949.

Harriet was affectionately known as Nana or Auntie. She will be remembered for her love of life, gregarious nature, passion for learning and reading. Harriet was known for her sense of humor and her “naughty” jokes. She would always embrace friends or new acquaintances with one of her Nana hugs and made friends with total strangers striking up conversations and compliments wherever she went.

Her career path included employment with Weibel Winery, Fremont School District, Macy’s and JC Penney’s.

Harriet is survived by her daughter, Roxanne Whalen and son, Tommy Dias. She also has 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Cancer society or ASPCA.org.
