Obituary For Herbert Curtis Cartwright
Herbert Curtis Cartwright, 91, of Niles California, passed away, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at his home in Niles, California, in his favorite recliner. Herb was born in Mansfield, Arkansas to General and Eva (Lackey) Cartwright. After the family moved to California, where he graduated from Washington High School in 1947 and later married Rosetta Clark. Herb entered the Army and served proudly during the Korean War as a cook while stationed here in California. After the Army he was employed for 27 years at Kimber Farms and after that for many years at Mission Clay Products.
Herb predeceased in death by his wife Rosie and son Denny. He is survived by his son, David Cartwright, daughter Donna Cartwright-Boyles, 2 grandchildren, Katie Boyles and Chelsea (Albert) Ghiorso and a great-grandson due in January 2020.
Per his request there will be no formal services. Instead of flowers, please do something kind for an animal.
A private burial will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon.

I have many happy memories from my childhood of Uncle Herb. Once we all went on a family "road trip" from California to Arkansas via Colorado Springs. We went across the Royal Gorge Bridge and he was teasing me about falling off and laughing all the way. Some of my fondest childhood memories include him and although I wasn't able to spend time with him as an adult, we talked on the phone from time to time and I will miss knowing he is in this world. Also, had it not been for him, I wouldn't be here! My Mom told me that when she was 16, Herb brought a friend whom he worked with at Kimbers home to meet her. They wound up getting married! She said she remembers going on a lot of "double dates" with Herbert & Rosie. So thank you Uncle Herb! You will always be in my heart.....
