Iris Suzanne Fransz October 16, 1937 - June 16, 2026 Resident of Newark Entered into rest on June 16, 2026 at the age of 88. Loving widow of 42 years to the late Edmond V. Fransz of Newark. Devoted mother to Matthew Fransz of Union City, Stephan Fransz and his wife Marcia of Newark, and Rachel Douwes and her husband Dustin of Union City. Beloved grandmother to Avery, Elijah, and Maximiliaan. Dear sister of Stella Roemers of Union City, Fini Smith of the Netherlands, Leonard Smith of Manteca, Carl Smith (deceased) of Florida, and Ciska Ottenhof (deceased) of the Netherlands. Born October 16, 1937 in Indonesia before moving to the Netherlands and settling in the Bay Area. Iris enjoyed her beautiful garden, walks in her neighborhood, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed nature, flowers, and visits to the beach. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 27 at 11am at Saint James the Apostle Catholic Church, 34700 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94555 with reception to follow.
