Obituary For Jean C. Schoy

In loving memory of Jean Schoy who passed away on January 17, 2026 from a short illness. She was born in Delaware in 1951. She acquired her BA in Sociology and moved to California to pursue her career, working first in San Francisco for newspapers. She chose human resources as her calling, achieving an MBA while working full time. She volunteered in her community as a tutor, counselor, and at the library as an aide. She retired in 2020 to spend time with her loved ones and to pursue her hobbies and passions.

Those who knew Jean in life, even those who simply met her, were always greeted with kindness, a smile, and her warm, calming and reassuring nature. Generous with her time and resources, she cultivated a rich, vast garden of friends and chosen family. For years, her evenings were dedicated to her volunteer work; she was humble, unpretentious, not showy. She loved and was loved in greatest measure.

She is survived by her partner of 51 years, Liz; her cousin, Victoria of Pennsylvania, several nieces and nephews and many friends and extended family. Her parents and a brother preceded her in death.

Services for Jean and the location will be announced at a future date.

"Truly, she was our Earth Angel".

I am so sorry to hear of Jean's passing. I first met Jean in April of 2009 when I started working at ATP. I enjoyed our daily chats and catching up after I retired and moved out of state. I will always cherish her beautiful calendars she made. She was always so thoughtful and caring. Jean, you will be missed!

I am so sorry to hear about Jean's passing. I had the privilege of working with her for over 20 years, and from my very first day, she took me under her wing. She was always encouraging, always ready to listen, and never hesitated to offer support when I needed it most. Jean was truly kindhearted and loving — not just a wonderful coworker, but a dear friend. She would stop by my office every day to chat with me and my coworker about anything and everything. Those conversations meant more than she probably ever knew. I'm going to deeply miss her calls and texts just to catch up and see how I was doing. Jean, I will miss you so much. I hope you're surrounded by endless books in your next life. To her family and loved ones, please accept my deepest sympathies. You now have a beautiful angel watching over you. 🤍
