Obituary For Jessie A. Ross

Jessie was called to her eternal home by Our Lord Jesus Christ on May 28 and was welcomed home by her two predeceased sisters, Juanita Hernandez, of Sacramento and Margie Guigneaux, of Discovery Bay CA.

Jessie was born in Oakland and resided in Union City for over forty years and was the second eldest of seven children born to Paula Ortiz, of Fremont. She leaves behind three sisters, Mary Mora of South Lake Tahoe, Angel Reyna of Salida, CA, Emily Loredo, of Dayton, NV and a brother, Peter Ortiz of Oakland. She is also survived by her son, Richard Tamblyn of Thornton, Colorado, two Goddaughters, Monica Reyna of Stockton and Sophia Cantu from Manteca. Jessie had many nieces/nephews who loved her and she loved them. Jessie worked at GM and then at Nummi Auto Plant in Fremont, CA for twenty years and retired in 2005.

She was the life of the party at many family gatherings and had everyone laughing all the time. We had some great holiday parties, she was overly generous with her love, gifts and money. She loved going to the movies, out to eat and especially loved dancing; she was a fantastic cook and loved her dogs. She enjoyed overnight visits, enjoyed visits at her home, always putting on a feast for all to enjoy. She was always the brunt of many pranks played on her by her sisters and laughed along with all of us because of her great sense of humor and never got upset but cursed us out all in fun. She was the favorite of all family members and will always be loved and greatly missed by all who shared her life.

Jessie always expressed her desire to move to Nevada to be closer to her two sisters Mary and Emily, but was diagnosed with Alzheimer/Dementia in September of 2019, was moved to Reno in January of 2020 to get the specialized care she needed and received from Brookdale Alzheimer/Dementia Facility in Reno, until she passed.
