Aunt Joan will certainly be missed by the Opel kids in Indy! For years, her proximity to us and Grandma allowed us to see her more so than most of the other Morgan's! I know I have many personal memories of time spent with the Collin's family....what fun! Our mom certainly respected and looked up to Joan!! We are certainly keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers! May Joan rest in peace with all her departed family members and loved ones...until we meet again. Please let us know about memorial service back in Indy.

On Friday, January 9, 2015 a Mass will be offered for Joan at Our Lady of Mercy School in Merced at 8:15 a.m. I am posting here the readings from this Mass in hopes that thoise who love and miss her may find some comfort. In today’s readings we will learn that having faith in the healing power of Jesus and believing that Jesus is the Son of God will enable us to have eternal life. With this in mind let us offer the Mass today for Joan Collins, Mrs. Wennberg’s mother. Mrs. Collins had strong faith and believed that Jesus is truly God’s Son. She valued Catholic education so that others may learn the faith that she held. We pray that her family finds comfort in knowing that she rests now in heaven. Reading 1 1 JN 5:5-13 Beloved: Who indeed is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is the one who came through water and Blood, Jesus Christ, not by water alone, but by water and Blood. The Spirit is the one who testifies, and the Spirit is truth. So there are three who testify, the Spirit, the water, and the Blood, and the three are of one accord. If we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is surely greater. Now the testimony of God is this, that he has testified on behalf of his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar by not believing the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever possesses the Son has life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you so that you may know that you have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God. Gospel LK 5:12-16 It happened that there was a man full of leprosy in one of the towns where Jesus was; and when he saw Jesus, he fell prostrate, pleaded with him, and said, “Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.” Jesus stretched out his

Mom, glad I was able to talk to you a week before your passing. You sounded good, as always, and I was praying for your recovery. But now we know that God had other plans for you. I'm fortunate to have you as my mom. I enjoyed our talks and you always ended our conversation with "thanks for taking care of my daughter". When I take my last breath I pray I will see and talk with you again. All my love, Rich.

Those pictures you added Mary are fabulous. I don't believe I have ever seen them. Everyone is so beautiful. Especially our wonderful Mother. You and Mikey are just beautiful - both of you such blessings! Diane many thanks for having mass said at your church and school. This is a wonderful tribute and blessing. I love you all very much and am grateful to have you as my family. Teresa

Joan, I am lucky to have spent some wonderful times with you. You shared quite a few recipes with me, cream of corn, meatballs, yummy meatloaf that I have kept making through the years. I also remember your beautiful loving smile and the loving words about how Davey grew up so grounded smart and loving. Those words were so important for me to hear. I loved it when you visited us and spend a couple days, you would put your makeup on in the morning with your little mirror. I still can picture doing it. I love you Joan and will miss you. -:hearts:M

Today we had a beautiful Mass for Joan at Our Lady of Mercy School. I know that she was pleased to se the children praying for her and her family.

We miss you dearest Mom. You always took such very good care of all us. As a small child you stayed up with me many of long nights, rubbing my chest and back every time I had asthma attacks. We have countless beautiful memories of you. You are selfless and have always been here for each and every one of us. We could not have a better friend and mother. As a tribute to you and your spirit, we crafted a wreath and set it adrift in the Pacific Ocean (see attached pics). We love you very much. Go with God and go in Peace. Aloha Makuakine -- A Hui Hou (With All our love Mother -- until we meet again). Teresa, Rich and Chloe
