Obituary For Joan Marie Garcia
Joan Marie Garcia, resident of Fremont, entered into rest on March 7 at the age of 76. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Ralph Garcia. Her beloved children; Cheryl Renaud and her husband David and Scott Garcia. Treasured grandchildren; Stephanie, Ashley, Nicholas, Melody and Miranda, great grandchildren; Anthony and Alissa. Caring brothers; David Souza and his wife Mary and Harold Souza, her aunt Georgina Souza and many cousins.
Born in Oakland, CA on August 22, 1937. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and computers. Joan volunteered for NUSD Foundation for over 12 1/2 years. She was a school secretary for NUSD for 10 years and Oakland School District for 13 years. She enjoyed RV traveling since 1965, loved camping and family gatherings.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17 from 5-8pm with a Vigil Service at 7pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Chapel service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 9am, also at the mortuary. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
