Obituary For Joanne Harriet Stevens

Joanne Harriet Stevens was born on October 29, 1930 in Stockton, California and passed away on March 16, 2020 at the age of 89. Devoted mother to Sandra, John (Marcia), and Sharen (Tony). Loving grandmother to Stacy, Cherith, and Nicole (Ryan). Great-grandmother to Joseph, Alyssa, Alanis, Jaden, Colin, Ashton, and Connor, and great-great grandmother to Everret. Survived by her brother Robert (Lynn) as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee of 45 years (2011) and her brother Ted. Joanne’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She believed in tradition and felt family get-togethers were important. It meant everything to her to be an active part in her family’s lives. She enjoyed cooking holiday and birthday celebration dinners, making sure every family member felt special and loved. Joanne grew up and resided in San Francisco most of her life, her beautiful “City by the Bay”. She worked as a waitress at Foster’s in San Francisco the majority of her career, then as a bookkeeper for a time. She loved music, dancing, shopping, meeting friends for lunch, attending social events, keeping in touch with others on the telephone, traveling, and entertaining. She was just a beautiful person, loving, kind, giving, thoughtful, generous, outgoing, full of joy and laughter, and always putting others first. Joanne will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

I have such fond memories of your Mom! She was a frequent chaperon on our Walther League camping trips. My prayers are with you and your families.

Mom, I'll always treasure those fun trips to Nashville, Chicago, Palm Springs and of course Disneyland! Will miss your smile and contagious laughter. Heaven has gained another angel. Love, Tony
