Obituary For John Carlos Francisco Nunes
João Carlos Francisco Nunes, known also as João das Noias, passed away on April 4, 2012 with his family at his side. He was born on March 4, 1931 in Ponta Dalgada of the island of Flores of the Açores. He was a resident of Newark, CA for many years. He was a member of Sociedade Filarmonica Nova Aliança in San Jose, CA.
He leaves his wife Maria do Espirito Santo Nunes, daughter Maria Amelia Avila and her husband Aldofo Cardoso, and his grandkids Tony Avila, Ana Avila, and Jorge Avila. He leaves 1 sister Maria Nunes in Canada and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 5 brothers.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9, 5-8pm with a rosary at 7pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 10, 10:30am at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Ave., Newark, CA 94560. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in San Jose.

Rest in Peace. If anyone reads this, I was searching the internet for my great grandfather Antonio Nunes Rose from Newark, born in the Azores, island of Pico, 1828, buried in Holy Spirit cemetery, Newark.
