From The Top Of Utah... I have fond memories of growing up in the Decoto- Union City area with Johnny. I always considered him a close friend thru our school years. We shared a lot of mat time on the wrestling teams. And a lot of "cruise nights". Sorry for his passing. Richard Garrett.

My condolences to the Gonzalez Family. John and I were hired at the department together. Over time we developed a friendship. John was always patient with my questions about sports, a topic he enjoyed talking about, especially the 49ers! I will miss our conversations and am forever grateful to have met John.

I have known John since the 7th grade. John was one of the most gracious, compassionate, giving persons I have ever known. Even with the illnesses he suffered and the challenges thus created for him, John always could be expected to be present at James Logan High School Class of 1965 events. Always smiling, always positive, never an unkind word. He loved his classmates and we all loved him. God Speed, my dear friend, I am going to miss you greatly and I'll never forget you.

To the Gonzalez Family, John was a sweet spirit to so many. I met him while working in the Hayward Probation office. He had a very calm way of handling life. He displayed it in his walk and talk. I'm thankful that our paths crossed. Keep your head up and remember... Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4 You're in my prayers, Tonyita Rogers
